What kind of firewood do you sell?

We have excellent quality dry firewood available for local delivery— on a limited basis, depending on the weather. Firewood is available in 16-inch lengths. It is one-year seasoned after splitting. Our firewood is harvested in a sustainable manner.

 

Will the firewood fit in my fireplace?

Individual pieces are split and cut to length (approximately 16 inches long).

 

Is the firewood difficult to light?

We receive many positive comments about this.  Our customers prefer oak firewood because it is a hardwood that generates a hot, long-burning fire.  However, please be aware that even seasoned oak does not light as easily as softwoods like pine or fir.  We also advise our customers that firewood stored outdoors should be covered with a tarp to prevent it from getting water-soaked by rain storms.

How big is a cord of firewood?

A RICK of stacked firewood typically measures 4' high and 4' long.

 

Our minimum delivery of 2 RICKS of stacked firewood typically measures 4' high and 8' long and will fill up a regular pickup truck bed full of firewood.

 

4 RICKS also A full-cord of stacked firewood typically measures 4' high and 16' long

 

 

The cord (not the pickup load) is the only legal unit of measure for sales of firewood in Alabama.

A cord (like other measurements such as a foot, a gallon, or a ton) is defined by law.
